Network Diagnostics

There are times when subjective impressions of service are not enough to drive improvement. At those times, CampusCruiser offers Extreme Diagnostics!

We measure the CampusCruiser infrastructure from three perspectives, and relate objective measurement to subjective impressions, producing an accurate, holistic perspective of your portal's performance.

1. Monitoring the CampusCruiser Infrastructure from Inside the Datacenter
CampusCruiser developed and deployed an independent monitoring system that continuously checks the availability and responsiveness of the CampusCruiser infrastructure. If an anomaly is detected, our engineers are alerted to minimize the anomaly's effect on your users.

2. Monitoring CampusCruiser from the Internet
CampusCruiser uses an independent monitoring service to check the availability and responsiveness of campus student information system servers of all SIS Integration subscribers at no additional charge. As an example, we check WebAdvisor servers and our CampusCruiser servers through the Internet at five minute intervals, 24x7x365. If you are interested in receiving alerts and reports about your SIS server or other publicly accessible servers on your campus, please consider our alerting services, for which there are additional charges

3. Monitoring CampusCruiser from Your Network
Here's where CampusCruiser takes availability and responsiveness monitoring and kicks it up a notch! We will send you two monitoring devices that will test your network and CampusCruiser's availability and responsiveness every minute from 06:00 to 20:00. One monitor is situated outside your firewall, and one is positioned on your network in a network area where responsiveness and/or availability may be a problem. Every night after 8PM, the devices email the day's results to CampusCruiser. After two weeks, our engineers review the results and send you the analysis as well as the raw data. The cost is reasonable.

CampusCruiser's Extreme Diagnostics – a disciplined approach to keeping your portal up and running.
