Q. What’s the difference between CampusCruiser ALERT and other message services?

A. CampusCruiser brings over 12 years of experience providing communication and collaboration tools to higher education, so we developed CampusCruiser ALERT to meet the specific needs of colleges. CampusCruiser also uses trusted partners who have direct relationships with major mobile phone carriers to keep your text messages from getting blocked as spam. Plus, CampusCruiser ALERT sends out your message simultaneously to everyone in your group―no waiting in long server lines, just fast, reliable delivery.

Q. Will I need to buy additional hardware or software for CampusCruiser ALERT ?

A. No. CampusCruiser ALERT is completely Web-based. All you need is a standard Web browser like Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari or Firefox (all are free downloads) and access to the Internet.

Q. Can I try CampusCruiser ALERT before purchasing for my school?

Q. Will CampusCruiser ALERT ever send ads to my campus subscribers?

A. No, never.

Q. Can you guarantee that my text messages will be delivered?

A. Although CampusCruiser cannot guarantee the successful delivery of text messages, CampusCruiser ALERT is based on a fast and reliable technology that is the foundation of all CampusCruiser's products. Together with our trusted technology partners, we make the best effort to send the text messages to the various wireless carriers.  Ultimately the wireless carriers are responsible for delivering the messages to the handsets.

CampusCruiser ALERT provides a report detailing the message status.

Q. Does CampusCruiser ALERT work with Macs and Linux?

A. Yes. CampusCruiser ALERT is a Web-based service, so it doesn’t matter what type of computer you’re using. You just need an Internet connection and a standard web browser to send messages.

Q. How often do you back up CampusCruiser ALERT messages and groups?

A. CampusCruiser ALERT is hosted at a secure data center. All CampusCruiser ALERT messages and subscriber profiles are backed up daily. 

Q. How do you handle multiple campuses / locations?

A. Administrators can create different Alert Channels for specific groups of users based on location or campuses.

Q. Will my users’ mobile phone providers charge them for receiving CampusCruiser ALERT text messages?

A. Subscribers may be charged by their mobile phone provider for the text messages they receive. Timecruiser is not responsible for any charges from mobile phone companies for receiving CampusCruiser ALERT text messages.
