Allen Wang
Co-founder, CEO and President
Allen Wang is chief executive officer and president of CampusCruiser, and one of the company’s co-founders. Since becoming CampusCruiser 's CEO in 1999, Allen has focused on building the corporate infrastructure needed to maintain CampusCruiser’s growth as a company and on ensuring the highest service and product quality for the company's growing customer base. Allen is hands-on for the day-to-day operations of the company in technical development, corporate strategy, sales, product management, marketing and finance.
Before co-founding CampusCruiser, Allen managed a mission-critical global trading system in equity, financing and debt analytics, handling an over $100 billion annual transaction volume at Morgan Stanley, where he was a Vice President in the fixed income division. He was responsible for designing large-scale global trading and portfolio management systems for complex financial instruments. In 1987 as Merrill Lynch’s Project Manager, Mr. Wang was instrumental in making Merrill Lynch the first U.S. brokerage firm to execute a cross-border trade with stocks listed on SEAQ (London’s equivalent of NASDAQ).
After graduated with a major in mathematics from Soochow University in Taiwan, Mr. Wang moved to New York in 1980 for graduate study. He received his MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University, and MS in Computer Science from the Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey.
Anthony Ma
Co-founder and Chief Information Officer
Anthony Ma brings extensive skills in both network and software development to his role at CampusCruiser, where he directs the product development of the next generation portal-, instructional-, and assessment systems for higher education.
Author of the award-winning CampusCruiser Web calendar, he continues to power innovation and invention for CampusCruiser. Anthony is instrumental in driving the company’s datacenter operations, solutions, and new application development.
Prior to co-founding CampusCruiser, Anthony had worked for Merrill Lynch and PaineWebber, and was instrumental in creating debt trading, fixed-income research, and real-time market data applications. Anthony received secondary education in Canada before coming to New York to attend college and pursue his career. He received his BS in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook at the age of 20.
James Wang
Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer
As CTO, James Wang directs the development of all CampusCruiser’s products including CampusCruiser PORTAL and CampusCruiser LMS with an eye toward innovation, simplicity, and reliability. With more than 20 years in the technology industry, James is responsible for managing CampusCruiser’s technology decisions. His team delivers fully functioning, mission-critical communication, collaboration and learning applications.
Prior to co-founding CampusCruiser, James pioneered object-oriented technology and client/server solutions for investment banks in the early 1990s. James was a Senior Vice President at PaineWebber, directing firm-wide fixed-income research effort using object technologies to identify and pursue possible sales and trading opportunities. Dedicated to developing a quality user experience with a practical approach, James has the reputation of delivering sophisticated systems that provide the highest user satisfaction.
After graduating from National Taiwan University, James studied at New York University and received his MS in Computer Science. He currently lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children.
Tom Hsu
Chief Financial Officer and Board Director
In his roles as Board Director and CFO Tom has been an integral part of CampusCruiser's growth. Prior to joining CampusCruiser, Tom co-founded Family Golf Center, a formerly publicly traded golf range business with over 120 sites throughout the U.S. Earlier in his career, Tom was a senior consultant in the software industry for many years. He received his MBA in Finance from New York University.
Jim Frederickson
Vice President Sales
Jim is responsible for expanding the success of CampusCruiser’s suite of enterprise solutions in higher education. He is directing CampusCruiser’s long term sales strategy, market penetration as well as developing new opportunities and markets. He brings over 25 years of enterprise-level sales leadership and experience to CampusCruiser’s management team. Jim recently led the North American higher education sales team at a large LMS company. This experience provides Jim with the pedagogical perspective of why CampusCruiser’s SaaS value proposition is so critical to the funding-stressed yet growing academic community. Prior to joining higher education, Jim held multiple sales leadership positions at various companies including Hyperion Solutions. Over a 10 year period, he helped grow the company’s revenues from 3 million to over 250 million USD as well as being elevated to VP of Sales and an officer of the company. Jim is a retired naval officer, aviator and flight instructor holding a B.A. from Georgia State University and an MBA from the University of Alabama.
Paul Clare
Chief Architect
Paul Clare is CampusCruiser’s Chief Architect in every sense of the word. Passionate about technology and its possibilities, Paul is focused on the design and coordination of integration architecture for the seamless deployment of CampusCruiser’s products and services in customer environments.
Paul joined the company in 1999 after working for Borland International in Silicon Valley, California.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Paul received his bachelor degree in music from New Jersey State University at Montclair. His background in music has provided him a unique advantage in computer programming in the network and collaborative computing environment. Paul specializes in framework architecture that supports user functions across the entire portal application.
David Kraus
Vice President Strategic Accounts
David is responsible for leading CampusCruiser's revenue growth in strategic accounts, consortiums, and the expanding for-profit/career college sector. David joined the company in 2000, bringing with him his extensive background in customer-focused and complex sales in the pharmaceutical and medical product industry. David has made a career of building long-term customer relationships, critical for corporate achievement and growth.
David has been the host of the company’s Product Advisory Board, which consists of representatives from CampusCruiser's client institutions nationwide. David is a key contributor to CampusCruiser's product direction and conveys a strong vision for the future of education software. Combining his in-depth knowledge of the U.S. higher education market, Software as a Service technology, and his adept communication skills, David has been effective in driving and maintaining the strategic growth of CampusCruiser’s Campus Engagement customer-base worldwide.
Jose L. Cabrera
Vice President of Business Development and Marketing
José L. Cabrera is Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for CampusCruiser. He is responsible for leading our efforts in the marketing of and expansion of channel opportunities for the CampusCruiser suite of enterprise solutions.
José brings a wealth of experience from working exclusively in the higher education industry. He began his career at his alma mater in the State University of New York system, serving in residence life and financial aid management roles. He transitioned to the private sector and during the past twenty years he has worked in a variety of senior consulting and management roles with administrative (ERP) and academic solution providers. Before joining CampusCruiser, José was the Director of Business Development at Datatel, Inc. where he successfully managed, grew, and nurtured their strategic partner relationships. His earlier experiences include implementing and managing ERP deployments domestically and abroad for SunGard and account management and sales support roles for PeopleSoft. As a start-up company and prior to their acquisition, José also built a successful partner program for the eLearning company, formerly known as WebCT.
Janet Pinto
Director of Marketing
As Director of Marketing, Janet Pinto has responsibility for all CampusCruiser marketing including branding, market analysis, marketing communcations. Janet brings significant product marketing and marketing communications experience to her role. Prior to joining CampusCruiser, Janet was director of marketing communications at SchoolNet, a K-12 education technology company. In this role, she was responsible for making measurable improvements in the company’s brand visibility and lead generation. Janet managed product marketing at Classroom Connect, where she successfully led the marketing efforts for the company’s flagship professional development product line.
Janet began her career in the education field, spending 6 years as a Special Education teacher. She transitioned from the classroom to the boardroom when she joined Sun Microsystems Public Relations team. While at Sun, she earned her wings managing international press tours, crafting press releases, and leading Sun’s PR outreach for the Global Education and Research group.
Janet is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds a Masters in Education from the College of New Rochelle.

John M. Morris
Director of Academic Technology Innovation for the Office of Information Resources and Technology, Drexel University
John M. Morris is the Director of Academic Technology Innovation for the Office of Information Resources and Technology (IRT – the IT infrastructure arm of Drexel University). After 15 years as a Professor of Architecture and Architectural Engineering at various universities including Tulane, University of Kansas, and The University of Michigan, he joined Drexel University as the Director of the Architectural Engineering Program, In 2000 he moved from the Academic to the Administrative side of Drexel to champion and institutionalize Web based education and technology use in the classroom. His focus is on the appropriate use of technology in education and the development of "Best Practices" in Web based learning including both pedagogical and administrative issues. He is responsible for managing IRT’s Web-Group which is responsible for special project web-site and database development, content and digital asset management, electronic portfolio management, WebCT Vista and hosted partnership support and training, video conferencing and broadcast and streaming management. Current projects include digital signage, podcasting / vodcasting and the development of rich media publishing tools for media delivery.
